The automotive mechanical water pump is driven by the car engine through a pulley to rotate the water pump bearing and impeller. The coolant in the mechanical water pump is driven by the impeller to rotate together, and is thrown towards the edge of the water pump housing under the action of centrifugal force, and then flows out from the outlet or water pipe; At the center of the impeller, the pressure decreases due to the coolant being thrown out. The coolant in the water tank is sucked into the impeller through the water pipe under the pressure difference between the inlet of the water pump and the center of the impeller, achieving the reciprocating circulation of the coolant.

1. Power source: After the engine is started, the crankshaft drives the water pump shaft to rotate through a belt (such as a timing belt, accessory belt) or gear.
2. Coolant circulation: The high-speed rotation of the impeller generates centrifugal force, sucking the coolant from the water tank (radiator), and pumping it into the water channel of the engine block and cylinder head after pressurization.
3. Heat dissipation process: After the high-temperature coolant flows through the engine to absorb heat, it returns to the radiator and is cooled by the fan and airflow to form a cycle.
Flow rate: 120-180L/min for passenger cars, 200-400L/min for commercial vehicles
Lift: 3-6 meters of water column (to ensure that the coolant penetrates the narrow water channel of the engine)
Prevent engine overheating: timely remove the heat generated by combustion to avoid serious faults such as cylinder deformation and cylinder pulling.
Maintain the optimal operating temperature: ensure that the engine is in the efficient working range of 80-100℃, reducing wear and fuel consumption.
Cooperate with thermostat regulation: work with the thermostat to control the large/small circulation path of the coolant (the small circulation heats up quickly during cold start, and the large circulation strengthens heat dissipation at high temperature).
